Conversion Kinetics of the Gaseous Products of Pyrolysis of Polypropylene and Waste Tires

2020
Numerical simulations are performed of reaction kinetics in the gaseous products of pyrolysis of polypropylene and waste tires at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range of 800 to 1300 K. The initial conditions are set by using the experimental data available in the literature. The reactions between gaseous pyrolysis products are found to result in a decrease in the mixture’s temperature of polypropylene and a temperature increase for waste tires. The increase in the initial temperature reduces the gaseous product’s conversion for both polypropylene and the waste tires. It is established that the conversion pathways for the C1–C4 alkenes and alkanes strongly depend on the initial temperature and their initial composition.
