The Raman spectrum of 2,3-dibromo-2,3-dimethylbutane between 15 K and room temperature

Abstract Raman spectra of both internal and external modes between 15 K and room temperature of 2,3-dibromo-2,3-dimethylbutane have been recorded. The results indicate the presence of the gauche isomer in the room temperature phase. A phase transition at T ∼ 185 K is observed and evidence for a further phase transition at temperatures below 77 K is discussed.
