Evaluation of some laboratory beer analyzers

Two near-infrared analyzers (LECO, Perstorp) and one density/sonic velocity analyzer (PAAR) were evaluated for the analysis of alcohol and extract in beer. Evaluation samples were split from plant QC samples which were analyzed by SCABA. Paired analysis were statistically evaluated for experimental standard errors. All analyzers gave satisfactory results for alcohol. The PAAR beer analyzer gave satisfactory real extract results.
