A data conversion method containing: an extraction process, whereby a first setting code for setting the environment in a first system is extracted from first setting data containing a description of the first setting code; a first identification process, whereby the meaning indicated by the first setting code is identified in accordance with the correspondence between the first setting code and that meaning; a second identification process, whereby a second setting code indicating the identified meaning is identified in accordance with the correspondence between the identified meaning and the second code; and a rewriting process, whereby a portion of second setting data related to the setting for a second system environment is rewritten in the description of the second setting code.
