Embarazo y carcinoma de cuello uterino en vidrio esmerilado: reporte de un caso. Pregnancy and glassy cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix: A case report.

In Venezuela, cervical cancer is the most frequent cause of neoplasms mortality in women, with 2500 deaths annually. It can be diagnosed during pregnancy, and even histopathologically expressed in aggressive and rare varieties such as glassy cell carcinoma of the cervix. We report a case of pregnant women of 28 years old, multipara with pregnancy of 17 weeks of evolution by ecosonograms transabdominal who attends to the Hospital Universitario "Dr. Luis Razetti "Barcelona, Anzoategui State, Venezuela, introducing transvaginal bleeding and pain in hypogastric region. She enters the service of Gynecology and Obstetrics with diagnosis of cervical cancer stage IIIA and indication of termination of pregnancy, which was not carried out by changes in laboratory values. The diagnosis was confirmed by pathological anatomy as glassy cell carcinoma of the cervix. After discussion of medical equipment, It was decided the progress of pregnancy and hospitalization of the patient until the date of caesarean agreed, as well as the implementation of treatment after caesarean. The caesarean section was developed to 34 weeks of pregnancy upon placement inducers of fetal lung maturity; it happened without complications and earned a living infant small for gestational age. It was indicated a radiotherapy treatment one month after caesarean.
