Microwave losses in ferromagnetic thin LSMO films

Thin films of the La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 (LSMO) manganite material were prepared on LAO substrates by RF magnetron sputtering and their microwave characteristics were investigated. The EPR absorption spectrum of one of the samples showed a double-line character below the Curie temperature. The effect was interpreted as due to a coexistence of the paramagnetic-and ferromagnetic-like phases in the sample and the main microwave parameters of these phases were determined at T=293 K. A possibility for investigation of ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) in thin films using a simple parallel plate resonator was demonstrated.
