Recurrent pneumonia . . . Not

Cough is a common presenting symptom of children encountered in primary care. It usually arises from intercurrent viral infections and is of short duration. When cough is associated with other respiratory symptoms or signs, such as fever and tachypnea, in a generally unwell child, pneumonia is suspected.
