Vibratory and acoustic behavior of induction traction motors, machine design improvement

2006
This paper is centered on the vibratory behavior of induction traction motors because vibrations are the sources of awkward acoustic noise in railway domain. The great interest of this work is the development of an analytical multiphysical model fit for use with optimization software. The model has been experimentally validated previously. A comparison is made with an existing traction machine of Alstom Transport and a laboratory machine in order to show significant differences in design to reduce vibrations.
