Pyoderma gangrenosum complicating a closed fracture of the os calcis

Pyoderma gangrenosum is an uncommon cause of idiopathic skin ulceration, which is often mistaken for resistant infection. A case report of pyoderma gangrenosum complicating a closed fracture of the os calcis is presented. Early recognition and immunosuppressive treatment prevents extension of this disease process.
