Eficacia y Seguridad de la Estreptoquinasa Intrapleural en Derrame Pleural Complicado y Empiema Pleural. Estudio Multicéntrico

The intention of the present investigation is to determine the effectiveness and security of intrapleural streptokinase in pleural effusion complicated and empyema. Design quantitative, comparative, descriptive, prospective, longit udinal, multicentric and experimental a work. They divided in a group control, const ituted by patients with empyema and pleural effusion complicated class V and VII in phase 2 and 3, with a dose of 250000 UI every 12 hours by 06 doses (3 days) and another experimental one, constituted by patient s with empyema and pleural effusion complicated class V and VII in phase 2 and 3 which as well, was subdivided in two sub -groups: sub -group A: 300000 UI every 12 hours by 05 doses and sub-group B: 375000 UI every 12 hours in 04 doses bot h by 3 days. 30 patient s included themselves of 4 hospitals of t he metropolitan area of Barcelona – Puerto La Cruz, of bot h sexes, 2 pediatrics, 28 adult s, 18 in t he group control and 12 in t he experimental group (06 sub-group A and 06 sub-group B). The findings demonstrate that a significant difference exist s indicating t hat the times of experimental control and are statistically different (P < 0.05) reducing t o t he time from resolution in 1,25 days when increasing the standard dose. Complications in 70.00% of t he cases were not observed. 10.00% of t he patient s required operation (decortications).
