Evidence of Kondo effect in thermal conductivity of PrSn3

Abstract We present measurements of the thermal conductivity of both PrSn 3 and LaSn 3 compounds. We deduce the “magnetic thermal resistivity” W mag of PrSn 3 and show that W mag T exhibits a Log T behavior characteristic of the Kondo effect. The theoretical analysis of the thermal conductivity measurements offers a new method to study the Kondo effect, especially in the case of a praseodymium compound.
