Nutrient uptake by groundnut (Arachis Hypogaea L.) Varieties Under Varying Levels of Zinc

2015
Afield experiment was conducted at Agronomy farm, S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan) during kharif, 2011 on loamy sand soil. The twenty treatment combinations consisting of 5 varieties (RG 510, RG 382, Girnar 2, HNG 10 and TG 37A) and 4 levels of zinc (0, 2.5, 5 and 7.5 kg Zn ha−1) were tested in randomized block design with three replications. Results showed that the uptake of N, P, K and Zn and oil yield in kernel were significantly higher in variety Girnar 2. Results further indicated that N and P contents in kernel, N, P and Zn uptake and oil yield in kernel significantly increased with increasing levels of applied Zn up to 5 kg/ha., Zn and protein contents were significantly increased with 5 kg Zn/ha over control. Significantly higher pod yield, haulm yield, were obtained with variety Girnar 2.
