STUDY ON THE ELECTRODE METHOD FOR MEASURING H2S VAPOUR PRESSURE OVER ALKANOLAMINE SOLUTIONS

1991
ABSTRACT A quick and simple approach for the measurement of H2S solubility in alkanolamine solutions (AAS), i.e. the electrode method, was recently reported by Rochelle et al. (1987). This is an ingenious new approach based upon the relationship of activities of hydrogen and sulfide ions with the equilibrium vapor pressure of H2S in AAS. In the present work the new method was experimentally studied and compared with the Rochelle's report and the conventional method. Additionally the effect of existence of CO2 in AAS is also investigated.
