Surgical Treatment of Left Main and Left Anterior Descending Artery Ectasia with Fistula to Right Ventricle

2020
Abstract We describe here a case of a young female patient who presented with shortness of breath on exertion NYHA class III and was diagnosed with echocardiogram as an apical ventricular septal defect and was referred for surgical repair. Intra-operative assessment revealed type III left main and left anterior descending artery ectasia that communicated with the right ventricle through an apical fistula. The fistula was repaired with a pericardial patch and the patient was followed up to 2 years with good clinical and radiological outcomes.
