Energy Storage System Using Solar Energy Resources to Optimize Charging Process for DC Lighting Nanogrid System

Black Out is a condition where all resources in the electric power system are lost. This is thought to cause discomfort at night. To overcome this problem, a backup system for household lighting supplied from alternative energy sources in the form of photovoltaic will be designed. This system can convert sunlight energy into electrical energy and is used to supply a High Power DC LED (HPL) load to a backup lamp, charge the Lead Acid battery as energy storage. This household lighting backup system operates by detecting the main electricity supplied by PLN. When the supply from PLN is cut off, the system will turn on the HPL as a backup lamp. The simulation result from the buck converter using the PI method through PSIM software connected to MATLAB using a simcoupler produce accuracy value of 99.64% with a voltage of 13.94 V, and connected direct to energy storage.
