The article summarizes and systematizes documentary and historiographical sources about the foreign policy of Spain during the period of the Second World War. Historiographical sources of domestic and foreign origin are used: memoirs, collective and individual monographic works, historical essays, political biographies, profile articles and intelligence, press information. On this basis, the leading scientific approaches to the historiographical achievement of the studied issues are studied in the context of the Franco-regime’s attitude towards the attack of Hitler’s Germany on Poland and the proclamation of Spain as a "non-defensive country," and subsequently neutrality in a new global conflict; The extent and direction of cooperation between Spain and Germany are clarified, including the results of the meeting between F. Franco and A. Hitler in the Anday, the reaction of Madrid to the beginning of the Soviet-German war, and Franco’s statement on Spain as a "morally belligerent country" in this duel, the circumstances formation and sending to the Soviet-German front of the "blue divisions", the entry into the US war and the essence of the Spanish concept of "two wars" and "three wars", the preconditions, course and results of the guerrilla war against the frankism regime, supported financially ideologically Soviet Union; analyzes the political and diplomatic outcomes of the Spanish Caudillio in 1939–1945, which were reflected in the isolation of Spain in the international arena in post-war times.
