CALIDAD DEL AIRE COMPONENTE CLAVE DE LA SALUD AMBIENTAL CASO DE ESTUDIO: MANIZALES CALDAS

2019
Air pollution has become one of the main environmental problems in cities nationwideand internationally with negative effects on human health and the environment. The deteriorationof air quality has been related to the accelerated growth of the industrial sector, as well as urbantransport. Among the pollutants of interest in urban areas, particulate matter (PM) stands out. TheOMS Guidelines state that by reducing the concentration of particulate material 𝑷𝑴𝟏𝟎 from 70 to 20 μg/𝒎𝟑 it is possible to reduce the number of deaths related to air pollution by 15%. In Colombia,Resolution 2254 of 2017 adopts the standard of ambient air quality, for 𝑷𝑴𝟏𝟎 establishes 50μg/𝒎𝟑 as maximum permissible levels for an annual exhibition. In this case study, the analysis ofthe records of Air Quality in the Data Center and Environmental Indicators of Caldas (CDIAC),for the city of Manizales, Colombia, is presented, which reveal differences in substances that affectthe influence of urban and industrial sector transport.
