La urbanidad en la vía pública por el método fòllia urbana

This article focuses on the phenomenon of urbanity and reveals physical characteristics of the urban public street that prioritize the human scale. From these characteristics, a method of morphological analysis -called follia urbana- is created that identifies and analyzes components of the urban form that, overlapping, promote urbanity. This method of analysis has been developed to be a decision support tool in the design of new streets and the restructuring of existing streets, and aims to help in the control of violence, segregation and urban degradation, as well as in the promotion of social, safe and interactive spaces for the pedestrian. The method is applied in Avenida Pres. Getulio Vargas, Curitiba - Brazil, restructured to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. By observing his physical form, the method of analysis gives indications of the priorities given to the project to restructure a major street of Curitiba.
