Three-electron quantum disks

1998
Abstract We study the effect of finite thickness of the quasi-two-dimensional layer on the energy levels containing three electrons by using the method of few-body physics. As the thickness increases, the magic number angular momentum states of the three-electron system (i.e., the states of fractional quantum Hall effect) will be destrolled. It is obvious that the dynamics of fractional quantum Hall effect is controlled by the short-ranged component of the electron–electron repulsive interactions.
