Simple model for charged vector-meson production

Abstract A simple model is proposed to account for the salient features of the reactions π ± p → p ± p → K ∗± (890)p at high energies. It is argued that these processes are dominated by pion exchange and exchange-degenerate ω-f poles with SU(3) related residues.
