Research and reform in English teaching for international nursing education

Objective This paper is to explore the English teaching reform for international nurs-ing education in China, in order to improve the English level of Chinese nursing professionals, thus to meet the needs of the market of international nursing. Methods The following reforms are implemented : optimizing the curriculum; creating English language environments; holding students exchange programs; strengthening professional English teaching. Results Graduates axe able to pass CET4 and CET6, and finish fundamental nursing tasks with English. Conclusions With the reform and practice, a Chinese in-ternational nursing education model which could meet the international standards has been developed and at the same time opportunity would be created for nursing students to join the international working environ-ment.
