In digital media analysis, the analogic or digital character of text material is often considered as a factor that determinates the narrative possibilities. In this article we compare two productions that influenced theoretical reflection about hypertextuality and interactive fiction, Julio Cortazar’s book-romance "Rayuela" and Michael Joyce’s digital-romance "Afternoon".
