Research on Resource Consumption Attack Detection and Defend

Based on the pattern of resource consumption, the attack process is modeled with queuing theory and the technology of detection and defend are discussed. The resource consumption attack detection method based on CUSUM algorithm is presented, which detects network traffic mutation using statistics matrix. With the queuing model optimization, a defend mechanism against resource consumption attack is presented. The experiment results show that the scheme can detect and defend the resource consumption attack, achieves high detection rate with low computation cost, and hence has good practical value.
