Primary observation of life habits and measurement of body ruler index of bamboo partridge(Bumbusicola thoracica) reared in the shed was conducted and compared to supply references for the birds to be reared artificially.The result showed that the bamboo partridges kept its wild life habit including tweeting,pluming behavior,cluster,etc.when they were reared in the shed.Environmental factors greatly influenced their life habits.In the body ruler index,the male body weight of the bird was heavier than the female,the difference was extremely remarkable((P)0.01);the male shin long index,strong index of a bamboo partridge were longer and higher than the female and the difference was remarkable((P)0.05).The individual difference of other physiological indexes between the male and female birds was not obvious.
