A multi-ply confectionery comprising: a candy layer comprising a mixture comprising a portion of cooked base comprising mannitol and syrup of hydrogenated starch hydrolyzate, fat, and a gelatin, and a portion of fondant comprising mannitol , a syrup of hydrogenated starch hydrolyzate, sorbitol syrup and wherein the candy layer has a moisture content of 6.0% to 8.0% w / w mannitol comprises crystalline particles, wherein the total amount mannitol is 6% to 30% w / w of the candy layer; and a layer of chewing gum comprises an elastomer; wherein a first surface of the candy layer is in contiguous contact with a surface of the chewing gum layer.
