İLKÖĞRETİM SEVİYESİNDEKİ ÖĞRENCİLER İÇİN CEBİRSEL DÜŞÜNME VE CEBİRSEL MUHAKEME BECERİSİNİN ÖNEMİ

The algebraic thinking and algebraic reasoning skills involves mental activities not only those used in math class but also those for considering, commenting and searching a solution for difficulties that students faced with in their daily life. However, in so many researches about students’ algebraic learnings, it was seen that students’ algebraic thinking and reasoning skills and skills to perform algebraic operations are inadequate, students have difficulties in associating mathematical information and they can not relate mathematics with daily life situations. Students should be able to practice what they have learned, carry out the transition between concepts and present this with multiple representations in order to understand algebra and raise their algebraic thinking levels. In this study, the importance of algebraic thinking and algebraic reasoning skills for primary school students are discussed and the justification of this situation is tried to be proved. Oysa ogrencilerin cebir ogrenmeleri ile ilgili yapilan arastirmalarin genelinde; ogrencilerin cebirsel dusunme ve muhakeme etme becerisi ile cebirsel islem yurutme becerilerinin yetersiz oldugu, matematiksel bilgileri iliskilendirmede zorlandiklari ve gunluk yasam durumlari arasinda baglanti kuramadiklari gorulmustur. Ogrencilerin cebiri anlamalari ve cebirsel dusunme duzeylerini artirmalari icin ogrendiklerini uygulayabilmeli, kavramlar arasinda gecisler yapabilmeli ve coklu temsil degerleri ile bunu ortaya koyabilmeleri gerekmektedir. Bu calismada, ilkogretim seviyesindeki ogrenciler icin cebirsel dusunme ve cebirsel muhakeme becerisinin onemi tartisilarak yapilan calismalar isiginda bu durumun gerekcesi ortaya konulmaya calisilmistir.
