Influence of Magnetic Hysteresis in the Analysis of an Electromagnetic Circuit by Finite Element Method

This paper discusses the influence of magnetic hysteresis in the analysis of an electromagnetic circuit, using 2D finite element method (FEM). The hysteresis is represented by Jiles-Atherton (JA) vector model. It is shown how this model can be associated to FEM with formulation in magnetic vector potential. An analysis of the energy involved in the circuit behavior is performed by means of the hysteresis loss calculation to validate the study.
