Application of Models-3/Cmaq in Air Pollution Policy Strategies During High Particulate Episodes Over Eastern North America

2004
Atmospheric models can provide information to assist in the development and evaluation of policies for reducing air pollution. Before applying models for assessing abatement strategies, the models need to be evaluated to demonstrate that they are credible. This study presents results of an evaluation of the US EPA air quality modelling system MODELS-3/CMAQ/MM5 during one winter and two summer high particulate matter episodes over eastern North America and some emission reduction sensitivity tests with implications for policy and abatement strategies.
