Extremes of Temperature: Hyperthermia

The autopsy diagnosis of hyperthermia, heatstroke, and heat-related death is a challenge for the investigating practitioner. Factors include elevated environmental temperature and endogenously generated heat, mediated by underlying disease, medication, and psychosocial factors.
