System and method for improved operator control of kraftstoffeinsparmodi

The present disclosure relates generally to a system and method for providing improved operator controlled Kraftstoffeinsparmodi for a vehicle, in order to optimize fuel economy of a vehicle. In one embodiment, the fuel economy optimization system and method allow the operator creates fuel saving configurations which include an operator input as to how one or more devices are to operate while the vehicle is within a specific location, and under specific conditions or in response on the occurrence of a specific event. The fuel economy optimization system stores each fuel saving configuration created for future use and delivers any fuel saving configuration when the vehicle is under specified conditions. In certain embodiments, the input from the operator is provided in real time or can be obtained by past travel history data on a specific route which is stored in a database to be retrieved.
