The reactivity of the regional lymph nodes and tumor stroma in cervix uteri cancer

1993
: In 40 women with invasive cervical cancer who underwent Wertheim hysterectomy immunoreactive changes were found in 37.5% out of all regional lymph nodes investigated. The "mixed" type with reactively changed paracortical area (T) and germinal centres of the lymphatic follicles (B) predominated. The characteristic combinations were T1B1 and T1B2. Four types of stromal reaction were described from which the most frequent was the polymorphocellular one. In most patients evidence for production in the supernatants of an active factor, inhibiting the migration of Ehrlich ascites tumour cells in vitro, from T lymph node lymphocytes stimulated with a cancer extracts, were not found.
