The Radiological Diameter of Tracheobronchial Tree

The shapes and diameters (or inner diameters) of the tracheobronchial tree are variable. Tracheal shape varieties form horseshoe, oval, and round-like to scabbard-shaped. Also significant difference in diameter changes among different individuals. So far, neither specific diameter measurement standards have been established nor have there been any relevant equations that calculate airway diameter accurately. Therefore, separate measurement should be applied to the tracheobronchial diameter, and the selection of balloon and stent size must be measured according to specific tracheobronchial measurements.
