Thermal and Mechanical Analysis of European Space Payloads: An Export Market for Australian Industry

The work undertaken by Auspace for the Australian Space Office and the CSIRO has included design and development on the Starlab instrument, the Endeavour payload, Lyman payload and the Atmospheric Pressure sensor prototype. These design tasks have required a considerable skill base in thermal and structural modelling. As a result of building up these capabilities, Auspace has undertaken design tasks for space programs within Europe, obtaining export dollars. Examples of the analysis undertaken are covered within this paper.
