La evolución en el currículo académico

The paper focus on how Darwin’s evolution theory reached the Spanish academics and intellectuals under the political circumstances of the late 19 th century. Several textbooks from this period are analyzed in order to see how the evolution theory is presented to the students. Like in USA, Darwin disappeared from the textbooks in Spain before the 2 nd world war. The inclusion of the evolution theory in the American curriculum by the BSCS project in the 1970´s which has also an impact in the Spanish textbooks, it was not just that Darwin was in again, but how the evolution theory was the frame to organize the topics on the biology curriculum and subjects.
