Catalysis by Heteropolyacid. I. Polymerization Reaction of Benzyl Alcohols

Benzyl alcohol and its derivatives catalyzed by heteropolymolybdic acids such as H3PMo12O40 and H4SiMo12O40 have been found to polymerize, leading to the formation of polyaromatics. The properties of the polymers obtained and the function of catalysts have been studied.
