Beta decay study of the N=Z nucleus 72Kr
2008
Beta decay of the N=Z even-even nucleus 72Kr has been studied at the ISOLDE PSB facility at CERN. 72Kr has been produced by fragmentation of a niobium target using the 1 GeV proton beam of the PS Booster. Delayed charged particles has been search for, X-ray, γ and γ-γ coincidences have been measured. Our results enrich the decay scheme in 15 unreported levels. Information on the Gamow-Teller strength distribution has been obtained for the region of the QEC window accessible to us.
