The theoretical substantiation of the spatial-modulation luminescent method for studying the orientations of quantum systems in crystals

2021
Abstract The hardware and software tools are described, as well as the sequence of actions in the implementation of the proposed method for determining the orientation of luminescence centers in anisotropic optically uniaxial crystals. The method is based on the use of the effect of spatial modulation of the luminescence intensity excited by polarized laser radiation in such crystals. A theoretical description of the method is given based on a semi-classical version of the theory of interaction of light and matter. The orientation of the luminescence centers is determined from the dependence of the depth of spatial modulation of the luminescence intensity on the values of the angles that specify the directions of the dipole moments of quantum transitions.
