The emergence of a new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and related disease (COVID-19) [1] has put an overwhelming burden on the health-care system worldwide, and a negative effect on organ donation and transplantation is anticipated. A major concern is that transplant recipients might have greater susceptibility to infection due to immunosuppression [2].
