The multidisciplinary guideline ‘Diagnosis and Treatment of Obesity in Adults and Children' of the Quality Institute for Healthcare CBO is based on scientific evidence and international consensus as much as possible. The CBO guideline creates the basis for the Health Standard ‘Obesity', which is expected at the end of this year and which will describe the content of interventions, as well as process organisation, structure of health care chains and the patient perspective. This article provides the paediatrician with the relevant parts of the guideline, but also proposes to discuss the questions left unanswered. Finally, a future picture is drawn in which the parties are named and placed that will need to come to an integral model in which prevention and curation will enhance each other.
