Implications: Physiotherapists must seek to develop and/or reflect upon the relevant codes which guide them through their everyday practice; educators need to ensure that relevant codes are mirrored appropriately within curriculum design and delivery; physiotherapymanagers should promote awareness and consider how a code of practice can assist in articulating expectations of clinical staff; professional bodies and regulators need to ensure their codes remain current and relevant and that they present and promote them in such away as to facilitate optimum engagement amongst practitioners and the general public.
