Ruthenium-catalyzed synthesis of 1-substituted-3-hydroxyperhydroazepines

Abstract 1,2,6-Hexanetriol reacts with aromatic primary amines in the presence of ruthenium complex catalyst, RuCl 2 (PPh 3 ) 3 , to give selectively 1-substituted-3-hydroxyperhydroazepines in good yields.
