Radiogold treatment of epithelial cancer of ovary: Late results

1973
Abstract Intraperitoneal radioactive colloidal gold (radiogold; 198 Au) was given after operation to 142 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer. In this series, a statistically significant improvement in five-year survival was noted when radiogold was given at the time of operation because rupture of a cystic Stage I ovarian cancer had occurred. Further palliation was also noted in the control of ascites. Complications of the therapy were not prohibitive.
