Radiative K- capture in hydrogen

Abstract The branching ratios for the decays K - p → Λγ and K - p → Σ 0 γ are investigated in a chiral SU(3) version of the cloudy-bag model. The calculated branching ratio for Λγ agrees with the existing experimental data, while the prediction for Σ 0 γ (being only slightly smaller) is well within the range accessible to an experiment currently under way at Brookhaven.
