Cases and materials on criminal law

1994
This book provides the reader with an accessible range of source material to support the study of criminal law at undergraduate level. It considers the leading cases and statutes relevant to the principal criminal offences encountered in the study of criminal law. The book aims to place the study of criminal law in the context of law reform by adopting the framework set out in the Draft Criminal Code, and encourages the reader to adopt a critical view of the development of the criminal law, with emphasis upon its inherent value judgements and inconsistencies. The extracts illustrate basic principles of the subject clearly, whilst also encouraging a critical view. This student text is designed for use in conjunction with a mainstream textbook on criminal law.
