Change and Experience of Village Governance in the New Era

Since reforming and opening up,village governance in China has experienced three stages.From the end of 1978 to the end of 1987,we stopped people's commune system and began the "separation of government and commune" system;from 1988,when Organic Law of the Villagers'Committee was in trial,to 1998,when Organic Law of the Villagers'Committee was put into practice,we attached great importance to villagers' self-governance;from 1999 to now,we have promoted the village governance model and rural comprehensive reform.The change of village governance since reforming and opening up also shows the continuous development of Chinese democratic politics,continuous practice of the idea of "people-centeredness" and the process from mere rural economic development to comprehensive construction of socialist new countryside.It leaves us valuable experience and enlightenment.
