Synthesis and Property of Water-dispersed Polyamide Resin Emulsion

2011
Carboxyl-terminated polyamide(CTPA) was modified by the epoxy acrylic acid mono ester(EAAME) and 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-propanesulfonic acid(AMPS) monomers grafted copolymer.Polyamide resin emulsion was obtained by means of salt-formation from neutralization. The structure of the intermediates and the target product were characterized by FT-IR.Some of factors on the properties of polyamide resin emulsion such as viscosity, water adsorptions, particle size, stability and surface tension were investigated. The results showed that the objective materials were successfully synthesized. When the solid content was 20 %,the molar ratio of ODA to EDA 1.2∶1,the mass ratio of AMPS to CTPA 2∶1,the viscosity, water absorption ratio, particle size and surface tension of the polyamide resin were 14.3 mPa·s(25 ℃),60.9 %,12.291 μm,and 43.6 MN/m respectively, showing good optimal properties.
