Manufacturing Stamping Die by Laser Cladding Ni35B+WC on the Surface of 45 Steel

Ni35B+WC alloy powder was coated on the surface of 45 steel by a laser cladding technique.The effects of WC content on the microstructure,hardness and wear resistance were studied.Results show that hardness and wear resistance of the coating layer is enhanced with increasing WC content.The characteristics of the coating layer structure obtained by laser overlapping cladding technique were researched.A that complete coating layer with 40%~45% WC addition can be obtained,and this steel is suitable for production of stamping dies at low impact stress.
