A Positive and Negative HFM for Speed Measurement

This paper details the wideband ambiguity function of hyperbolic frequency modulation (HFM) signal, because the ambiguity function of the HFM signal is coupled in the range dimension and speed dimension, a single HFM signal cannot eliminate the time delay caused by Doppler, which leads to ranging error. In this paper, a method of speed measurement and ranging based on positive and negative HFM combination signal is proposed, and the extensive simulation analysis of this method is carried out, which can better estimate the distance and speed of moving targets. It has reference value for engineering use application.
