Enabling Efficient Unidirectional Forward Scattering via Metal-dielectric Heterodimer

2021
Highly efficient unidirectional forward scattering is achieved via metal-dielectric heterodimer configuring, exhibiting a high forward-to-backward scattering ratio (≈ 48 dB) and a remarkable enhancement on the forward scattering intensity. Such a superior scattering performance is achieved via satisfying the first Kerker condition around the resonance peak of dimer. Based on our previous developed generalized dipole-dipole interaction model, the underlying mechanism is attributed to the coherent interference between the metal surface plasmon resonance and dielectric Mie resonances.
