The invention discloses a method and a system for inspecting goods. The method comprises the steps: obtaining a transmission image and an HSCODE of inspected goods; treating the transmission image to obtain an interested region; retrieving a model created based on the HSCODE from a model base by utilizing the HSCODE of the inspected goods; judging whether the interested region contains goods unmarked in a declaration form or not based on the model. By utilization of the scheme, container goods can be effectively inspected to discover whether the goods unmarked in the declaration form is contained or not.
